But what if you could begin to change your perspective in just a few minutes each day, and what if gratitude could become more than just a fleeting feeling?
Welcome to Seeds of Gratitude – a free 20-day devotional designed to help you cultivate a deeper sense of thankfulness while strengthening your relationship with God each day.

What Is Biblical Gratitude?
Biblical gratitude is so much more than just feeling thankful when life goes well, celebrating over Thanksgiving, or saying a quick “thanks” before meals. It’s something much deeper that can truly transform your life.
True biblical gratitude is choosing to recognize and celebrate God’s goodness, even when life is hard and circumstances are difficult.
It’s looking beyond your immediate situation to see the bigger picture of who God is and what He’s done for you. It’s acknowledging that every good thing in your life – from the obvious blessings to the little everyday things we take for granted – comes from a loving Father who cares deeply for His children.
When you practice biblical gratitude, you’re not denying real pain or struggles, and you’re certainly not pretending everything’s perfect. Instead, you’re choosing to remember God’s character, His faithfulness, and His countless gifts, even when life feels overwhelming. You’re training your heart to notice His presence in both the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of your life.
Biblical Gratitude Changes Everything.
Biblical gratitude has a way of shifting your focus from what’s missing in your life to all the things you already have. It replaces anxiety with peace, complaining with contentment, and fear and anxiety with hope. It reminds you that no matter what you’re walking through, you have so many reasons to still give thanks.
How This Gratitude Challenge Works
Each day of the Seeds of Gratitude challenge focuses on a specific aspect of thanksgiving and gratitude.
Each devotional is built on our SHARPP Bible Study Method – a simple Bible study method designed to help you go deeper than surface-level devotionals while still fitting into your busy life.
SHARPP stands for Scripture, Historical Context, Application, Reflection, Praise, and Prayer and each step is carefully designed to help God’s Word become alive and active in your heart.
Here’s a breakdown of each piece of the method:
S – Scripture
Read the verse or passage for the day. Write it out in your journal – writing will help you to slow down and internalize God’s Word.
I like to write the verses in the first person, almost like affirmations. For example, instead of “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”, I would write, “This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
If you have time, read the related verses. Bonus points if you write them down too!

H – Historical Context
Dive into the background of the Scripture. We ask questions like who wrote this? Who was it written for? What was happening at the time? Understanding the context helps unlock the deeper meaning of the passage.
A – Application
Reflect on how this Scripture applies to your life right now. What is God saying to you through His Word? How can you live out this truth today?
R – Reflection
Take time to quietly reflect. Use the reflection questions to help you process what God may be teaching you. Be honest and open as you journal your thoughts.
P – Praise
Listen to the suggested worship song and reflect on any lyrics or feelings that stand out to you. Bonus points if you write out lyrics that speak to you!
P – Prayer
Close your study in prayer. Use the written prayer as a guide or pour out your own heart to God. Thank Him for what He’s revealed and ask for His help to live it out.
Here’s An Example

How Much Time Do You Need?
The beauty of the SHARPP Method is its flexibility. Each devotional takes just 5-20 minutes to read and reflect on, depending on how much time you have and how deeply you want to go.
If you have a busy day, simply read the scripture and focus on its theme for that day – like gratitude for God’s forgiveness. Throughout the day, try to bring your mind back to this theme, thanking God in your quieter moments. You can also listen to the suggested worship song in the background while you work. The goal is to build a daily habit of intentional touchpoints and connection.
When you want to go deeper, take time to write out each of the verses in your journal, along with lyrics that touch you from that day’s worship song. Answer the reflection questions and write freely as thoughts come into your head. Take time to be still and simply listen. Finally, pray. Speak to God. Thank Him for everything you are grateful for. Write out your prayer in your journal – this is a great way to record your journey with Him.
