God’s Promises In Scripture
1. “I Will Never Leave You”
Verse:
Hebrews 13:5 (NIV): “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
God’s Promise to You:
When you feel lonely or you are going through something difficult, God is always by your side. No matter where you go or what you face, He is with you. Even if others walk away from you or you feel left out, He will never leave you. His love for you doesn’t depend on what you do, it is forever.
Faith In Action:
When you feel worried, lonely, or afraid, talk to God and tell Him how you feel. Trust that He hears you and allow Him to comfort you.
2. “I Will Give You Rest”
Verse:
Matthew 11:28 (NIV): “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
God’s Promise to You:
Are you tired? Go to God. Bring your worries, problems, and heavy thoughts to him. He wants to give you peace and rest – real rest. Rest that comes when he is in control. Let him be your safe place.
Faith In action:
Spend time with God in prayer and silence. Take a deep breath as you release your worries to Him.
Create a “For God To Do” Page in Your Journal
- Turn to a fresh page in your journal and title it “For God To Do.”
- Write down everything you want to hand over to God—worries, needs, hopes, and situations you can’t control.
- When you’ve finished writing, close your journal as a symbol of placing everything you wrote down into God’s hands, trusting that He is at work on your behalf.
- Pray to God, telling Him you are giving Him control over everything listed on your “For God To Do” page.
- Whenever a worry returns to your mind, remind yourself that you’ve surrendered it to God. Picture those concerns safely closed within your journal, being cared for by Him.
This easy exercise is a tangible way to express your trust in God. Writing each worry down and then closing your journal is more than just a mental exercise; it is an intentional, physical act where you hand over your problems and worries to Him. Instead of letting those stresses, worries, and anxieties spill into other parts of your life and relationships, you’re symbolically placing them in God’s hands so that you can rest, reminding yourself that He is in control. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
3. “I Will Strengthen You”
Verse:
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”
God’s Promise to You:
God is there to help you, you don’t have to rely on your own strength. When you feel weak, tired, or afraid, God promises to give you the strength that you need. You never need to face anything on your own.
Faith In Action:
When you feel scared or tired, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask God for strength. Take a few minutes to sit quietly and refocus your thoughts. Trust that He will give you what you need.
4. “I Will Direct Your Path”
Verse:
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will direct your paths.”
God’s Promise to You:
Life can be uncertain and confusing, and you might not know which way to go. God promises to guide you and show you the best path for your life, so trust Him with your plans and decisions. Remember that He goes ahead of you and you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. He has a plan for you, so let him lead you step by step.
Faith In Action:
Use your journal to write about the choices you need to make. Pray about each one and ask God to guide you. Watch for His direction in your heart and in your circumstances.
5. “I Will Provide for You”
Verse:
Philippians 4:19 (NIV): “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory.”
God’s Promise to You:
You can trust God to take care of you. He knows exactly what you need each day before you even ask him, and he promises to provide for you, sometimes in ways you don’t expect. Overthinking and worrying about tomorrow is hard and heavy, and He wants you to rest in His care, trusting that He will look after you.
Faith In Action:
Start a gratitude journal and every day write down what you are grateful for, thanking God for everything that you already have. Then go ahead and share your needs with Him and trust that He will provide.
6. “I Will Give You Peace”

God’s Promise to You:

Verse:
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV): “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…”
God’s Promise to You:
When you feel tired and worn out, God promises to give you new strength. Put your hope in Him, and He will help you rise above your problems. He will give you the strength you need for your body, mind, and spirit.
Faith In Action:
When you feel weak and tired, spend time with God. Set time aside each day no matter how busy or tired you are, and listen to worship music, write down your thoughts, speak to God, and trust that He will give you the strength you need.
