The Book of Jeremiah shares the messages of Jeremiah—a prophet and priest—who spoke to God’s people during some of their darkest days. Jeremiah warned the people of Judah that their sin and unfaithfulness would lead to destruction and exile by Babylon if they did not turn back to God. Sadly, his warnings came true, and Jeremiah witnessed the fall of Jerusalem.
Even though much of Jeremiah’s message is about judgment, it’s also a book full of God’s patience and promises. Jeremiah reminds us that, even after failure and loss, God’s love never ends. He promises to restore His people and talks about a “new covenant” where God’s law would be written on their hearts and they would truly know Him. These devotionals from Jeremiah invite us to take God’s warnings seriously, but also to hold on to hope—trusting that God is faithful and always ready to renew and restore us.
